Sat at the top right corner of Paris’ oldest planned square – Place des Vosges – sits Café Hugo: a quintessentially Parisian restaurant which oozes charm at any time of day. Given the centrality of this spot, you’d expect it to be filled with tourists, but Café Hugo attracts the exact opposite: single flâneurs, who use its location in Vosges’ ornate structure as a place to sit, rest and, quite often, write. After an afternoon of shopping in the neighbouring Marais district, this is the perfect place to unwind with seafood and a glass of wine.
